India Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a fruitful chat with Team India after they arrived in India following the win in the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Barbados. The Rohit Sharma-led side was invited by the BJP leader for a breakfast at his residence on Thursday (4th July).

India National Cricket Team finally had their hands at the ICC title after failing to do so since 2013. It was a complete performance from them in the tournament as they won every game and became the first-ever team to win the T20 World Cup without losing a single game.

One of the key performers for the India team in the T20 World Cup was Axar Patel. The all-rounder came up with a sensational performance with both bat and ball and stepped up at big stages for his team. His crucial effort saw the team end the 11-year-long title drought and gave fans everything to cheer about.

Axar Patel was magnificent in the entire tournament and his most important contribution came during the final. After India lost three early wickets, the all-rounder was promoted up the order and he made sure that he stepped up big time for his team.

Axar Patel scored 47 runs and brought India back in the game. The all-rounder along with Virat Kohli (76) bailed the team out of trouble and made sure that India posted a winning total on the board. Based on his knock, India ended up with 176 runs and then subsequently went on to win the game by 7 runs.

One of the highlights of Axar Patel's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 was the catch that he took of Mitchell Marsh in the game against Australia in Super 8. The all-rounder took a blinder at the boundary ropes and it tilted the game in India's favour.

Axar Patel talked about the catch to Prime Minister Modi and explained that initially, he felt that it would be an easy catch but the wind was fast and he had in his mind that he would take it with his hand. He added that when the ball came to him he realized the need to take it with right his hand the and ball hit him hard. Speaking about the same, he explained:

"In that catch, they were having a partnership, We had taken a wicket in the first over. After ththe at, the wicket didn't come. When the ball was coming, the wind was blowing in the direction I was standing. So I was standing and when he hit the shot, I thought it would be an easy catch. But the ball started going so fast with the wind. I was thinking that I would catch it in my left hand."

"But when the ball went, I thought it was going to my right hand. So I hit the jump at that time. And when I heard such a loud sound in my hand at that time, then I realized that I had caught it in my hand. I think most of the time, 9 out of 10 times I miss such a catch. But I was lucky that when the team needed it in the World Cup, I caught that catch."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes a jibe at Axar Patel

As Axar Patel explained about the catch to Prime Minister Modi, he came up with a hilarious comment and told the all-rounder that Amul Milk is working. Watching this, Virat Kohli too joined and told that southpaw had problems in eating as he didn't get dhokla.
