India wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel announced his arrival on the international stage in style in the ongoing third Test against England. The match of the five-match series is taking place at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
While the first day of the game was about Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel stole the limelight on the ongoing Day 2. The keeper-batter played a decent knock on his debut and made many stand and applaud him.
Dhruv Jurel came to bat early on Day 2 after Kuldeep Yadav perished. The keeper-batter settled in pretty well and showed great composure with the bat. He eased into the innings pretty well and played crisp strokes in his innings.
One of the main highlights of Dhruv Jurel’s innings was the six that he hit off Mark Wood. The England pacer bowled a fiery 146 kmph bouncer to the India keeper just outside the off stump and the right-hander’s response left amazed.
Dhruv Jurel seized in an opportunity to hit a six as he leaned backwards a little opened the face of his bat and flew the ball over the slips. The keeper-batter got perfectly under the ball and timed it for a six.

With the way Dhruv Jurel batted, he looked set for a well-deserved half-century but perished just 4 runs before. The keeper-batter ended with an innings of 46 runs off 104 balls. He also slammed 2 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. He also became the keeper with the highest individual score on debut for India.
My dream came true – Dhruv Jurel on making India debut

“Imagined, manifested and rehearsed this day so many times ever since I first picked up the bat. My dream came true.”
Dhruv Jurel after his rollicking performances in the domestic circuit forced the selectors to pick him in the team for the England Tests. The batter has one century and five half-centuries to his name at an impressive average of 46.47 with the bat in FC cricket.
He didn’t get the opportunity in the first two games. But KS Bharat not making an impact with the bat made way for Jurel in the team.
