Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are locking horns with each other in the 70th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, May 27.
The one battle that everyone was excited to watch heading into the match was between the young leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) superstar Virat Kohli.
Digvesh Rathi-Virat Kohli moment goes viral
Digvesh Rathi has been one of the most talked-about names in the Indian Premier League 2025. He has quickly gained fame in his first-ever season and has been in the headlines ever since his debut game.
With a Sunil Narine-like action, Digvesh Rathi has troubled the batters of the opposition team a lot and has been one of the top performers for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2025.
However, more than his performance, the celebrations of Digvesh have been talked about. His notebook celebration has cost him big as he was fined thrice by the Indian Premier League governing council and had to serve a one-match ban as well.
Ahead of the match, Digvesh made it clear that he wouldn't be pulling off the notebook celebration in case he dismissed Kohli during an interaction with the fans.
Meanwhile, Digvesh nearly picked up a spat with Kohli during the 11th over of the second innings at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
On the fourth ball of the over, Mayank Agarwal took a single and gave the strike rate to Kohli. This led to Digvesh showcasing his cheeky side as he pulled out at the last moment in his delivery stride.
He was then seen gesturing something to Rishabh Pant regarding the fielder with a smile, but it was clear that he was just trying to be a little cheeky. Pant had a big smile on his face, and Kohli also smiled, looking at Digvesh.

Given it's the last game and we are not playing the finals, it's disappointing - Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh spoke to the broadcasters ahead of the match and expressed his disappointment at not playing the final. He said:
"Given it's the last game and we are not playing the finals, it's disappointing. As the IPL goes, we lost a couple of games that could have gone either way. At times, you need nine wins and those close losses can really hurt you. There have been areas that we can improve on next year. But for teams that miss out on finals, there are positives to take."
Mitchell Marsh added that they will give their best in the last match despite being eliminated from the competition. He said:
"I think first and foremost, it's important to win a game for our franchise. I think no matter where you are in the table, you have to be proud of how you prepare as a team. We have still got good energy in the team. The young guys will be having a go and hopefully, we finish with a win."
