Riyan Parag received the India call-up after his sensational performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for Rajasthan Royals. He got an opportunity to bat in the middle order and he made sure that he made the most of it, ending up as one of the leading run-getters in the tournament.
Riyan Parag since the last few seasons failed to get going in the IPL. This was because he didn't have an opportunity to bat up the order. He was seen as a finisher by the team and it didn't go any good for him as he failed in almost every game and was trolled a lot for his poor heroics.
However, in 2024, he made sure that he replies to all the criticism in style. Riyan Parag was the third leading run-getter in the IPL 2024. He scored 573 runs in 16 matches to go with 4 half-centuries. He stood tall for his team in the big games as well and took them to victory.
The Zimbabwe series ies, a big opportunity for Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma and Dhruv Jurel
Riyan Parag would be eager to make an impact with the bat in the Indian colours as well. The all-rounder has been slotted in at No.4 for the team and the ongoing series will be a massive opportunity for him to seal his place in the team and make his case strong for the next World Cup.
Along with Parag, his Rajasthan Royals teammate Dhruv Jurel too has been handed the opportunity. The keeper-batter has been around the Indian Test team and has made a big impact there. He would be keen to man ake impact in the shortest format of the game.
Abhishek Sharma too has been in the team because of his sensational performance in the IPL 2024. The Southpaw scored 484 runs at a strike rate of 204 in the league and also hit three half-centuries in the league.
