Australia opener Travis Head was dismissed in an attempt to try an aggressive shot off the spinner Varun Chakravarthy during the semi-final match against India in Dubai. After Head was dismissed, Virat Kohli gave him a highly aggressive send-off which showed the importance of his wicket.

Travis Head' wicket fell during the ninth over of the match bowled by Varun Chakravarthy. Facing just his first ball of the match, Head decided to take him on straight away but didn't connect properly.

The ball hit the lower part of his bat as it went high up in the air towards long-off where Shubman Gill took a fine catch after making some excellent ground to his left. It was a brilliant running catch from India's vice-captain as he kept his eyes on the ball.

After the wicket, Kohli went wild and was seen hurling abuses and yelling 'F*** off' loudly while looking at Head. The former India captain was visibly ecstatic on Head's dismissal as he celebrated with his teammates.

It was a terrific knock from Travis Head, who once again looked in superlative form against India. He was at his aggressive best as he didn't shy away form taking on every Indian bowler in front of him.

Travis Head's enterprising knock

The first three overs of the innings went for just 4 runs as Head took his time to get his eyes set on the crease. But he started playing in an attacking mode from the fourth over bowled by Hardik Pandya.

Travis Head kept playing with aggressive intent in every over. He also hit three consecutive fours to Mohammed Shami at one point. However, it was his match-up with Varun Chakravarthy which was awaited.

Surprisingly, he tried to attack Varun off just his first delivery and perished in the process. Travis Head smashed a quickfire 39 off just 33 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

India felt a sense of relief after the fall of his wicket as they were desperately looking for this breakthrough right from the start. He has been India's nemesis over the last few years, having hurt them a no. of times in crunch games.

Australia keep chipping away

After losing Cooper Connolly early, Head and Smith stitched together an important partnership which steadied Australia's ship. While Head was dismissed, Steve Smith continued to play impressively.

Smith formed a good partnership with Marnus Labuschagne for the third wicket. However, Jadeja broke the partnership by trapping Labuschagne right in front of the stumps. Jadeja also picked up the big wicket of Josh Inglis later.

However, Australia kept chipping away despite losing all these wickets. Skipper Steve Smith didn't let the run rate go down and looked in excellent form with the bat.
