As they were already excited to see Kohli in action, when the former Indian captain came near the boundary rope, the enthusiastic fans began chanting, "Kohli ko bowling do," urging the Delhi captain to let the star batter roll his arm over against the Railways.

Now, the videos of the fans’ amusing requests quickly went viral on social media. However, the dashing right-hander didn’t react to the fans’ request. Despite not getting to see Kohli bat on Day 1 of the Ranji clash, the crowd’s energy and support for their favorite player remained unshaken.

Virat Kohli's bowling stats

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who is known for his exceptional batting skills, has occasionally displayed his bowling skills. In 155 first-class matches, Kohli has taken just three wickets with his medium-pace bowling. Interestingly, he hasn't claimed any wickets in Test cricket for India.

However, Kohli’s bowling record in limited-overs cricket is slightly better, with five wickets in 295 ODIs and four in 125 T20Is. Kohli's most recent wicket in international cricket came during the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Kohli dismissed Netherlands captain Scott Edwards, who scored 17 off 30 balls at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on November 12, 2023. KL Rahul caught the edge behind the stumps, giving Kohli figures of 1 for 13 in three overs in that 2023 ODI World Cup clash.

Karn Sharma and Upendra Yadav’s fifties put Railways in a strong position against Delhi

Speaking about the Ranji match, Delhi had a great start, but Siddhant Sharma and Navdeep Saini picked up three wickets for just 21 runs in three overs by removing Anchit Yadav (7), Vivek Singh (0), and Suraj Ahuja (14).

However, Karn Sharma’s fifty and wicketkeeper-batter Upendra Yadav’s stunning knock of 86* (write the writing time) brought the Railways back into the game against Delhi. However, Railways lost the seven wickets, but they have already posted more than 200 runs on the board in the ongoing Group D match against Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Navdeep Saini has so far scalped three wickets, while Siddhant Sharma and Money Grewal have taken four wickets each against the Railways.
