Anshul Kamboj misses an easy chance as Joe Root gets a lifeline in the Manchester Test
The ball rolled toward Ravindra Jadeja, and he quickly fired a throw at the non-striker's end, seeing Joe Root and Ollie Pope in the middle of the pitch.
However, realizing he can save himself, Root started running as Ravindra Jadeja picked up the ball, but to everyone’s shock, he missed the throw and there was no one to back him up at the non-striker's end. Had Kamboj, who was at mid-on, come near the sumps, he would have easily collected the ball and disglodged the bails to send Root packing.
The England batters completed the single as India lost an easy chance. After the mishap, Jadeja was seen venting his anger at the debutant Anshul Kamboj.

India’s fielding woes continue on Day 3 against England
Meanwhile, India’s struggle continues on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test against England. They are wicketless so far, and then their poor fielding efforts made things even worse for them. Actually, Anshul Kamboj had given England batter Ollie Pope a real scare.
Kamboj had delivered a tricky ball that looked like it would swing away but sharply jagged back in, catching Pope off guard. The ball brushed Pope’s glove and flew low towards the wicketkeeper, Dhruv Jurel. It was an under-edge, dying on its way, and even though Jurel dived and got his fingertips to it, the ball slipped off and bumped onto his thigh.

Root and Pope are both racing towards their hundreds, while India is still searching for their first wicket on Day 3.
Joe Root surpasses Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis, eyes Ricky Ponting's Test record
After hammering a gritty fifty, Joe Root surpassed Indian legend Rahul Dravid (13,288) and South African great Jacques Kallis (13,289) and became the third-highest run-scorer in Test history. Now, he is just a few runs away from breaking Ricky Ponting’s record of 13378 runs to script the history.
At lunch on Day 3, England is firmly on top. The hosts have scored 332 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets that were taken on Day 2 and now trail India by only 26 runs. In this session, England added 107 runs without losing a single wicket. Joe Root and Ollie Pope both look set to take England past India’s total soon. India would be hoping to turn their fortune post-lunch break.
