At 36, Virat Kohli may have reduced his verbal aggression, but when it comes to batting, he still remains a force to reckon with. While his intensity has definitely reduced when it comes to targeting opposition players verbally, he can still outshine younger players with batting.
Time and again, one has seen the former India skipper delivering his best performance after an altercation with the opposition player and Matheesha Pathirana got a taste of it on Thursday (March 28) when Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
While Pathirana did not really have an altercation with Virat Kohli but he did manage to make him angry by hitting him with a sharp bouncer. On the first ball of the 11th over, the Sri Lankan pacer managed to pull of a rare feat, hitting Virat Kohli on his helmet. The India batting superstar was taken aback by the sharp bouncer from Pathirana and was stuck on the helmet.

Virat Kohli reacts furiously:
Pathirana was quick to talk to Kohli and the latter responded with a thumbs up. Kohli, however, was in no mood to have Pathirana the last laugh as he hit back with a six on the very next ball. The right-arm pacer bowled another short ball and Kohli managed to pull it away for a maximum.
On the following delivery, the RCB superstar hit a four. On the fourth ball of the over, he went hard on the drive once again but mistimed it to long-on for just a single. Kohli was absolutely furious with himself and was seen hitting his pad with the bat.
The former RCB captain also had an animated exchange with Pathirana at the non-striker's end as he made it clear that he was not at all happy over being hit on his helmet.
