The 36-year-old Punjab Kings (PBKS) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was left absolutely angry during the 18th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) on Saturday, April 5.
Maxwell was seen having a heated chat with the umpire due to the distractions caused by the spidercam during the PBKS vs RR clash at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

Glenn Maxwell loses his cool
Maxwell came out to bat with a huge responsibility on his shoulders after the top-order batters of the Punjab Kings failed to perform well against the Rajasthan Royals bowlers.
While chasing 206, Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, and Prabhsimran Singh bagged low scores, and Punjab Kings were left reeling at 4-43.
Glenn Maxwell spent some time in the middle and was involved in a crucial 88-run stand with Nehal Wadhera that brought Punjab Kings back in the match.
Punjab Kings team management would have been hoping for big things from Glenn Maxwell, as he has a reputation for playing blinders to snatch victories from the jaws of defeats.
However, Maxwell was unable to play a big knock for Punjab Kings and was dismissed in the 15th over of the innings. He took a long walk back to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs off 21 balls, with 3 fours and 1 six.
Before getting out, meanwhile, Maxwell was involved in a heated moment with the umpire. After the 4th ball of the 15th over, Glenn Maxwell pulled out at the last moment as Yudhvir Singh was about to bowl the 5th ball of the over as he faced some concerns with Spidercam.
Things didn't stop there as Maxwell pulled out for the second consecutive time, and this time, he looked quite angry. He showed his anger at the square-leg umpire and was seen pointing towards the Spidercam

Going to come good at some stage - Mark Boucher on Glenn Maxwell
Speaking ahead of the PBKS vs RR clash, Mark Boucher said that the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are yet to fire with the bat but would come good at some stage in the tournament. He elaborated:
"Yeah, and those are the type of guys that haven't really come off yet. They haven't needed to come off, but you know that they're going to come good at some stage. And if they come good, you're going to be chasing big scores.
"Having a look at their bowling attack, it's a very good bowling attack. The only one thing, if I'm the coach Ricky Ponting at the moment, would be a slight concern, is towards the latter end of this competition, have they got enough spinners in their bowling attack? They rely heavily on their seamers, and they have good seamers. Have they got the backup in the spin department?"
During the same discussion, Sanjay Bangar lauded the Indian batting unit of Punjab Kings. He stated:
"I think that will give them the huge comfort, because last season, it was just the same wherein Indian batters did the job, but they didn't really get the support that was required from the overseas pack whenever they played at home. So, they have to improve their home record to go on and progress further in the tournament. And it is great science that the Indian batting is indeed really looking good for Punjab."
