It was some amazing piece of athleticism from Glenn Phillips as he took one of the best catches of this tournament so far. The fact that it was Virat Kohli's wicket makes it even more special for him and New Zealand.
Not the first such catch for Glenn Phillips
This was not the first time when Phillips has taken such an outstanding catch this tournament. Earlier, he took a magnificent one-handed catch to dismiss Pakistan's captain Mohammad Rizwan in the opening match of the tournament.
Glenn Phillips has already taken some incredible catches in his career and this was one of them. In a short span of time, he has transformed himself as an all-format cricketer capable of winning matches for his team by contributing in every field.
Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 11 off 14 balls as India were reduced further to 30-3. India had earlier lost both their openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill cheaply.
In the last match, Kohli had scored a brilliant hundred against the arch-rivals Pakistan to win the match on his own. However, he was unable to continue his good run and succumbed to Phillips' athleticism.
New Zealand start well before India fight back
New Zealand started the day well after some early aggression from Rohit Sharma. Matt Henry picked up the big wicket of in-form Shubman Gill for a low score.
Kyle Jamieson then struck to dismiss Rohit Sharma, who tried to smash him over midwicket but didn't get the height. Kohli was the next batter to be dismissed as he tried to play an attacking shot to Matt Henry.
The match is important in determining the semi-final fixtures of the Champions Trophy 2025. The winner of this match will face Australia in the semis while the loser will face the Group B toppers South Africa in the other semi-final fixture.
