After two losses in a row, Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s team bounced back in style on Wednesday (July 19) to register a thumping win over Bangladesh in the second ODI in Dhaka.

The Women in Blue had started their tour on a good note by winning the first two T20Is to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. However, Bangladesh won the third T20I before inflicting a 40-run defeat on their fancied opponents in the first ODI.

With the three-match ODI series online, Harmanpreet Kaur and her teammates had their task cut out. They needed to win the game at all costs to keep the series alive and they did it in style.

Riding on Jemimah Rodrigues’ stunning all-round performance, the visitors thrashed Bangladesh by 108 runs to draw level in the three-match series.

Asked to bat first, India scored 228 for 8 in the allotted 50 overs. Jemimah top-scored for India, scoring 86 while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored 52.

In reply, Bangladesh were all out for a modest total of 120 in less than 36 overs. Fargana Hoque (47) and Ritu Moni (27) were the only batters to score in double digits for the home side. For India, Jemimah was the best performer with the ball too, taking 4 wickets for just 3 runs in only 3.1 overs.
