The star Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Harshal Patel rattled the stumps of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) opening batsman Aiden Markram with an unplayable yorker on Monday, May 19.

Harshal Patel created history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by dismissing Aiden Markram in the ongoing match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Aiden Markram falls for 61 vs SRH

Markram continued his good form with the bat in the Indian Premier League 2025 and played a brilliant knock against the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Opening the innings with Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram launched a brutal attack on the SRH bowling unit and played an aggressive brand of cricket.

He stitched up a brilliant 115-run stand in 63 balls with Mitchell Marsh and then a crucial 35-run partnership in 23 balls with left-handed batter Nicholas Pooran before falling in the 16th over.

On the fourth ball of the over, Harshal Patel bowled a sensational slow-dipping yorker to Aiden Markram, who thought that the pacer would bowl a full toss.

The batter was caught by surprise, and the ball went under the bat and rattled the stumps. Aiden Markram walked back after scoring 61 runs off 38 balls, with 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Meanwhile, Harshal Patel hit the 150-wickets mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by dismissing the Proteas batter. He became the fastest Indian to reach the milestone as he achieved the feat in 114 innings, and overall, he is the second fastest bowler behind Lasith Malinga.

Speaking in a video shared on IPL's website, Harshal Patel said that the motivation levels are down while playing the last few matches of the competition after being eliminated. He stated:

"Honestly speaking, when you are out of the game and with 3-4 games to go, it is difficult to motivate yourself. At the end of the day, you know you are a professional cricketer so whenever you step into the ground, you need to give your best. You need to prepare in the best form you can, come out there and perform in order to win the game for your team."

Harshal Patel further expressed his delight over pitches not being very flat in IPL 2025. He asserted:

"Yeah, I think the biggest difference I can see from last year in terms of scoring rates is the variable of wickets. The wickets have not been as flat as it was last year. So, that has probably been the point of difference this year. The mindset of the batters haven't changed much, it's just the surface at times has been a little difficult to score, especially here in Hyderabad."
