Mitchell Johnson was at the receiving end of sarcastic comments during the ongoing Test between Australia and Pakistan. The first game of the three-match series is taking place in Perth.

Micthell Johnson has been hogging the headlines for the last few days because of his fight with David Warner. The former fast bowler lashed out at the opening batter, who will be retiring from Test cricket after the ongoing Test series against Pakistan.

Writing in a column for West Australian, Mitchell Johnson said that David Warner doesn’t deserve a hero send-off as he was part of the Sandpapergate scandal. He stated that a non-performing Test opener shouldn’t get to decide when he will end his career.

Mitchell Johnson, who is commentating during the ongoing Test, was teased by his fellow commentator on Triple M Cricket. He was asked sarcastically if anything was going on for him. The commentator stated;

“Now I haven’t seen you in the lead-up to this game Johno (Johnson). Anything been going on? Not really? Keeping a low profile?”

Mitchell Johnson was at his hilarious best as well as he gave a sarcastic response, saying: “Laying low. Nah all good here in the West. The sun’s been shining, mate.”

Mitchell Johnson further reacted to reports of him being asked not to commentate in the first Test. Replying to this, he said that he has already made his opinion and he now wants to move. He stated:

“Look, I wasn’t meant to be here from what I was told. I was happy to be here. It has been an interesting time. I have given my opinion. I have said what I have said and we move on.”

AUS vs PAK: There’s going to be criticism, but you gotta take that and silence them – David Warner on Mitchell Johnson’s comments

David Warner replied to his critics in style as he played a blinder on Day 1 of the game. The opening batter brought up his 26th Test ton and made sure he started his final Test series on high. His innings put Australia on the top in the game.

David Warner ended with a knock of 164 runs off 211 balls. He also hit 16 fours and 4 sixes. He opened up about the criticism, saying that there’s no better way to silence everyone by putting runs on board. He explained:

“There’s going to be criticism, but you gotta take that and silence them. No better way than to put runs on the board”.

At stumps on Day 1, Australia were 346/5. Alex Carey (14) and Mitchell Marsh (15) are unbeaten at the crease. For Pakistan, apart from Agha Salman everyone has picked a wicket.
