Rohit Sharma backs India to level the series in Sydney
Further speaking on the defeat, Rohit Sharma spoke about his own batting performance and claimed that it will be a challenge. He was disappointed at his own performance individually and the team's performance as well.
"Lot of the things that I am trying to do aren’t coming off as a batter. Mentally it’s a challenge. It’s a big disappointment. As of now, that is where it is," Rohit told the reporters.
However, the Indian skipper is still confident of his team and feels that India will be looking to end the series on a high with a win in Sydney. Australia are currently 2-1 up in the series.
"There are things we need to look at as a team, I also need to look at personally. There’s still a game to go. If we play well, it will be two-all. A draw will be really nice (result)," he added.

Jasprit Bumrah continues his wicket-taking form
Meanwhile, the fifth day of the Test started with Jasprit Bumrah claiming another five-wicket haul in Test cricket. Bumrah finished with 5-57 in Australia's second innings. He had already picked up 4-99 in the first innings of the match.
With India needing 340 runs to win, skipper Rohit Sharma looked solid upfront but was dismissed for another single-digit score (9). KL Rahul was also dismissed cheaply and it brought Virat Kohli to the crease.
Kohli looked solid at the start but lost his wicket at the stroke of lunch. He was dismissed by Mitchell Starc for just 5. With three wickets down, Rishabh Pant joined Yashasvi Jaiswal and both of them started the rebuilding work.
Australia clinch a memorable win
Both changed their aggressive style of play and batted with patience to frustrate the Australian bowlers. Jaiswal and Pant played out the whole second session without losing a wicket. With Australia needing seven wickets in the last session, the match seemed to go for a draw.
But Travis Head snapped up Pant's wicket to open the doors again for the hosts. India kept on losing wickets in clusters against the relentless Australian attack. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed in a controversial fashion for a well-made 84 off 208 balls
