Indian champions all-rounders Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan were involved in an ugly fight during the match against South Africa champions in the World Championship of Legends 2024. Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan had a heated altercation after a miscommunication during a crucial moment of the game.

South Africa defeated India by 54 runs in the final league match of the World Championship of Legends 2024 at Northampton's County Ground on Wednesday, July 10. The Indian team secured a spot in the semi-finals despite the loss. The Men in Blue finished in fourth place in the six-team points table.

Chasing 211 runs to win the game, India was struggling at 77/5 within 11.3 overs, with Robin Uthappa (23), Naman Ojha (5), Ambati Rayudu (2), Yuvraj Singh (5), and Suresh Raina (21) dismissed. However, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan rescued the team with a crucial 56-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Veteran pacer Dale Steyn bowled the crucial 19th over of India Champions' chase. Irfan Pathan attempted a big shot on the first delivery but only managed to sky the ball to long-off. The ball was not caught as it bounced before reaching Dane Vilas. However, Irfan was run out in a mix-up with his brother Yusuf.

Irfan found himself stranded halfway down the pitch when Yusuf hesitated for the second run. Irfan fell short of the crease while returning to the non-striker's end. The left-handed batter was seen yelling at Yusuf after his dismissal. The video quickly went viral across social media platforms on the internet.

India Champions' semifinal hopes were hanging by a thread at the moment. Yusuf Pathan ensured India's qualification for the semifinals as India needed to score 153 to qualify. After the match, Irfan Pathan kissed Yusuf on the forehead in celebration of their team's advancement to the knockout stage.

Irfan actively supported his elder brother's campaign in Baharampur, West Bengal, during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He often expressed admiration for his brother, highlighting how he managed household responsibilities. Irfan described his brother as someone who speaks less but works more.

Earlier, South Africa Champions posted a formidable total of 210/8 in their 20 overs against India. Jacques Synman scored an aggressive 73 runs off 43 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes. Richard Levi added 60 runs off 25 balls, with the help of five boundaries and five sixes in their last match.

The Indian bowlers couldn't prevent South Africa from posting a significant total despite a strong finish in the death overs. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh showcased his vintage off-spin skills. Singh was the top performer among the Indian bowlers by picking up four wickets for 25 runs in four overs.
