Ishan Kishan had a brilliant outing on his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Southpaw oozed his class with the bat against Rajasthan Royals in the second game of the league at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Ishan Kishan was the shining light for Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening game of the IPL 2025. The batter made a solid statement as he played his best innings in the league and made sure that he helped his team start the new season on a dominating note.
Batting at three, Ishan Kishan came out all guns blazing as he slammed a solid century and helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post their second-highest total on the board. The keeper-batter also became the first Indian player to hit a century for the Orange Army in the league.
Ishan Kishan slams unbeaten 106 runs off 47 balls
The first innings of the game was all about Kishan as he looked in golden touch and played some magnificent shots in his innings. The left-hander went to his half-century in just 25 balls and then took just 20 more balls to get to his maiden century in the league.
Kishan played an unbeaten 106 runs off 47 balls. The No.3 batter batted with a strike rate of over 225 as he slammed 11 fours and 6 sixes during his stay at the crease. He made many stand and applaud him for his heroics including SRH owner Kavya Maran.
While he stole the limelight with his batting in the first innings, Ishan Kishan was on the receiving end of a brutal blow in the second innings. The keeper-batter faced a knee injury as he attempted to stop the boundary in the 18th over of the innings when Adam Zampa was bowling.
Adam Zampa bowled a half-tracker to Shubham Dubey, who pulled hard behind square on the leg side. Ishan Kishan sprinted to his left in the deep and put in a great dive but the effort went in vain. But in what was a cause of concern, he ended up getting hurt.
Kishan looked in immense pain as he couldn't walk properly and was seen limping. He was also seen getting treatment from the physio around the boundary line. The left-hander then didn't participate in the game any further.

Wanted to get this last season but happy to get that first hundred - Ishan Kishan
Kishan talked about his innings, saying that he was happy to get his first hundred. He also revealed how skipper and team management have given him freedom and confidence. Speaking after the first innings, he said:
"Feels good, it was coming for a while. Wanted to get this last season but happy to get that first hundred. The team has put their faith in me, and I want to do my best for them. The captain has given us all a lot of freedom and confidence, hats off to the management. When Abhishek and Head started, they gave a lot of confidence to us batters in the dugout."
