Jacob Bethell, on Saturday (June 2), pulled off an absolutely stunning catch while playing for Warwickshire against Nottinghamshire in the ninth North Group match of the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast 2024.

He pulled off an unbelievable diving catch near the boundary to send back Tom Moores that saw Warwickshire reducing the opposition to 95 for 5 while defending 149. On the first ball of the 14th over, Richard Gleeson bowled one well outside the off stump and Moores decided to go for a big shot.

The left-handed batsman got down on one knee and hit the ball over the covers. The ball was falling towards the left of Jacob Bethell and at first, it looked like Moores would get a boundary for his shot. However, the Warwickshire player had other ideas. Bethell ran towards his left and covered good ground before making a full-length dive to take the catch just inches about the ground.

Watch the catch from Jacob Bethell:

Talking about the game, Warwickshire went on to win the game by 22 runs Batting first, Warwickshire were bowled out for 149 runs in 19.3 overs. Barring opener Robert Yates, no other batter could play a good knock with the bat. Yates led the charge with the bat for his team, scoring 68 runs off 48 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes.

No other Warwickshire batter could even touch the 20-run mark. For Nottinghamshire, Olly Stone picked up 3 wickets while Luke Fletcher claimed two. In the end, 149 turned out to be more than enough for the Birmingham-based outfit as it went on to win the game with ease.

Nottinghamshire were off to a good start with their openers Joe Clarke and Alex Hales adding 54 runs for the first wicket. However, their innings got derailed once Dan Mousley struck in the sixth over to send back Clarke. From that position, Nottinghamshire kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 127.
