Later, Virat Kohli gave a salute to Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah as they walked back to the dressing room. Several players, including KL Rahul, gathered near the boundary ropes to greet the two stars, who remained unbeaten at the close of play in Brisbane.

Well, day 4 of the ongoing third BGT Test ended with a dramatic turn of events for the Indian cricket team, as the umpires called off play due to fading light at The Gabba. India managed to avoid the follow-on thanks to a brilliant last-wicket partnership between Akash and Bumrah.

Earlier, KL Rahul laid a solid foundation with a gritty knock of 84 runs off 139 balls studded with eight boundaries, and Ravindra Jadeja played a stunning counterattacking knock of 77 runs off 123 balls, giving India a chance to fight back against Australia in the ongoing Gabba Test.

The Indian team is currently trailing by 193 runs with Bumrah (10* off 27 balls) and Akash (27* off 31 balls) resuming play on Day 5 against Australia, aiming to score a few more runs in the ongoing third Test of the five-match Test series at The Gabba in Brisbane.
