Bumrah came out to bat after the dismissal of Akash Deep in the 59th over and played a small yet eye-catching knock. With the match all but lost, he decided to smash some boundaries and entertain the fans at the stadium.
Jasprit Bumrah selected the most dangerous bowler - Mitchell Santner - to launch the attack and was quite successful in his attempt.
It was in the 60th over of the innings that Bumrah smashed Santner for two consecutive boundaries to cheer up the crowd.
On the 5th ball of the 60th over, Bumrah went for a slog-sweep to a delivery that was tossed up and made a great connection. The ball cleared the midwicket boundary and went for six.
On the next ball, Santner went wide outside off-stump, and Bumrah once again went for a slog-sweep and was successful in hitting a four.

Bumrah's boundaries against Santner were a big achievement as the Kiwi left-arm spinner was extraordinary with the ball in the Pune Test match. He bagged 7 wickets in the first innings and 6 wickets in the second innings to finish the best-ever Test match of his career.
Santner dismissed Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Akash Deep, and Jasprit Bumrah across two innings.
I didn't use the seamers as they weren't required - Rohit Sharma on not using Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep
A disappointed Rohit Sharma attended the press conference after the defeat in the second Test and he was asked about not utilising the seamers in the match. Notably, Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep bowled a combined 20 overs in the match.
Talking about this, Rohit Sharma stated that there was no use of the pacers on the pitch because it was mostly helping the spin bowlers. He said:
"If you know the answer before the match, then you don't do that. You need to have a balance. When the ball is reversing you want them to come. The same happened with NZ. We wanted to have a balance of spin and pace. I didn't use the seamers as they weren't required."
Rohit Sharma also backed his players, saying that they are very talented and need to focus on building strengths and addressing weaknesses.
"All the players have come here because they are good at something. We need to focus on that. A lot of guys have played our cricket on your strengths. When you play for long, you keep building on your strengths. Weaknesses are important to address but I think the ratio is 70-30 in building to your strengths."
