While Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (May 19), their win turned a bit sour because of an injury sustained by their all-rounder Kamindu Mendis.

The Sri Lanka star suffered the injury in the 18th over of the SRH innings when his team needed just 11 runs to win the high-scoring game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 18th over when Kamindu Mendis was facing Shardul Thakur.

The LSG pacer fired a yorker outside the off stump, and Kamindu Mendis managed to hit the ball towards the off side. Soon after hitting the ball, Mendis set off for a quick single. In the meantime, Nicholas Pooran quickly collected the ball and had a shy at the stumps. The West Indies star could not hit the stumps as Mendis tried to reach the crease quickly.
