Team India cricketer KL Rahul took a stunning catch at leg-slip during Bangladesh's second innings of the second and final Test match in Kanpur. KL Rahul's catch provided the home team with a great early breakthrough on the final day of the Test match at Green Park on Tuesday, October 1.

The Bangladesh cricket team started the final day's play 26/2 with Shadman Isman (7) and Mominul Haque (0) at the crease. Ravichandran Ashwin started the bowling attack for the Indian team on the final day. The veteran off-spinner took just nine balls to pick up his first wicket on Day 5.

On the third delivery of the 14th over of the Bangladesh second innings, Mominul Haque attempted a sweep shot, which had previously worked well for him. However, this time it led to his dismissal. The left-handed batter couldn't connect with the shot properly, resulting in a catch at leg slip by KL Rahul.

It is worth mentioning that Ashwin had adjusted his fielding placement, moving the second slip to the leg slip. Rahul took a sharp catch to get rid of Mominul, who scored a century in the first innings. The Bangladeshi batter scored only 2 runs off 8 balls before being dismissed, leaving the team 36/3.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto joined Shadman Islam at the crease after Mominul's dismissal in the first session of the last day. The duo helped the team take the lead in the second innings. Notably, KL Rahul dropped the catch of Shadman, who was on 3 runs, in the final session on the fourth day.

Message Was So Clear From Rohit Sharma - KL Rahul

Speaking before the fifth day's play, KL Rahul said that Rohit Sharma made a clear message about making the most of the limited time left in the match. Rahul said that the team focused on playing freely without worrying about getting out despite losing a couple of wickets.

"Message was very clear. Most of the game was lost to weather but we wanted to see what we could do in the time that was left. We lost a couple of wickets but since the message was so clear from Rohit that it doesn't matter if we get out, we tried to do that," Rahul said.

The Indian team declared their first innings at 285 for 9 in just 34.4 overs on Day 4 of the Kanpur Test against Bangladesh. Young opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with an impressive 72 runs off 51 balls. Rahul scored 68 runs off 43 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.

Rahul and Virat Kohli, who added 47 runs off 35 balls, added an 87-run stand for the fifth wicket. Rahul's innings came to an end when he was stumped by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
