Team India cricketer KL Rahul took an excellent catch in the slips during Bangladesh's first innings of the ongoing Test match. Mushfiqur Rahim failed to get going in the first Test as KL Rahul's catch ended his innings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, September 20.

The visiting team picked up four wickets of India's lower-order batters earlier in the first session on the second day. Taskin Ahmed took three wickets, including Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, with the second new ball. Hasan Mahmud dismissed Jasprit Bumrah to end the proceedings.

The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side lost their five wickets for 40 runs inside 13 overs. Indian fast bowlers are breathing fire with the ball against the Bangladesh batters. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep took two wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj secured one wicket so far in the match.

Bumrah took his second wicket of the day by dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim. The incident occurred on the fifth ball of the 13th over. Rahim edged a delivery to second slip, and KL Rahul took a great catch. Mushfiqur was dismissed after scoring 8 runs off 14 balls, leaving Bangladesh in a difficult position.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh are 73-5 after 21 overs, with Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das at the crease. The visiting team needs to surpass the 177-run mark to avoid the follow-on in the ongoing match. Ravindra Jadeja has yet to bowl, as the Indian team has used four bowling options so far.

It Was Just About Experience, Class - Sanjay Manjrekar

Rahul made his return to the Indian Test team after missing the last four matches of the home series against England. The 32-year-old came to bat at No. 6 on the first day but struggled to find his rhythm. Rahul (16 runs off 52 balls) was dismissed without much impact by spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar criticized Rahul's batting during Day 1 of the Test against Bangladesh. Manjrekar described Rahul's innings as lacking purpose and intent. He pointed out that Rahul often registers low scores after one big innings.

"Completely understandable that they went for KL Rahul, It was just about experience, class, and recent form - the century in South Africa and an 80 in the only Test he played against England," said Manjrekar on ESPN Cricinfo after the day's play.

"But this is KL Rahul's story, It is amazing that he plays a brilliant innings at the Test level and the next two to three innings, it seems like he has got a pair in the last Test. Even when you saw him bat today, it almost seemed an innings without purpose," he added.
