Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Krunal Pandya has made a great impact with the ball for his team in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The tournament opener is taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The all-rounder removed vice-captain of the opposition Venkatesh Iyer with a peach. But what was impressive was the way he created doubt in the mind of batter.

Krunal Pandya first bowled a short ball that surprised Venkatesh Iyer, who was batting without a helmet. He delivered a bumper but that went down leg and after that the batter called for a helmet. However, after that, he castled the stumps of the left-hander.

Krunal fired a flatter delivery, to which Venkatesh Iyer tried to be wristy. He didn't get the outcome that he wanted as he ended up dragging it onto his own stumps. The RCB player was pumped up as the team bagged two quick wickets.

Krunal Pandya was the pick of bowlers for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, picks 3/29 in the 4 overs

Krunal Pandya then made sure he ended his spell on high as he removed Rinku Singh with a brilliant delivery. He came up with another quicker delivery that rushed the KKR batter and went on to shatter his stumps to send him back for 12 runs.

Krunal Pandya was the pick of bowlers for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their opening game of the IPL 2025. The left-hander returned with the figures of 3/29 in the 4 overs that he bowled and had an economy rate of just over 7 in his spell.

RCB restricts KKR to a total of 174 runs

Apart from Krunal Pandya, Josh Hazlewood had a great outing with the ball. The fast bowler picked up two wickets and gave away 22 runs. Thanks to their brilliant effort with the ball, they restricted the Kolkata Knight Riders to a total of 174 runs.

For KKR, skipper Ajinkya Rahane was the top run scorer. He led from the front as he played a brilliant innings of 56 runs off 31 balls. Sunil Narine (44) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (30) supported him well as the defending champions posted a total of over 170 runs.
