The 19-year-old Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Kwena Maphaka took an absolutely stunning catch to dismiss the 26-year-old Chennai Super Kings (CSK) top-order batter Urvil Patel on Tuesday, May 20.
Urvil Patel failed to deliver with the bat for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 62nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Urvil Patel bags a duck in CSK vs RR clash
Patel made the headlines when he hit the fastest T20 century by an Indian off just 28 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while playing for Gujarat against Tripura.
Despite his brilliant performances in domestic cricket, Urvil Patel went unsold in the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. However, fate had a better plan for him as he was signed by the 5-time champions CSK as an injury replacement in the middle of the season.
The batter made the most of the opportunity when he received his CSK debut cap and slammed a brutal 31 runs off just 11 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
However, he failed in his second innings for the franchise as he bagged a 2-ball duck. On the second ball of the second over, RR pacer Yudhvir Singh bowled a hard length delivery on the wicket to the wicket line to the batter.
Urvil Patel tried to slog down the ground, but the bat turned in his hand as he played the shot. It looked like the ball would go over Kwena Maphaka, but the youngster moved back quickly, timed his jump to perfection, and took an absolutely wonderful catch above his head.

I believe that CSK bank on experience - Abhinav Mukund
Speaking on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the CSK vs RR clash, Abhinav Mukund said that the Chennai Super Kings, who have relied on the experienced players over the years, find themselves in a tricky situation in IPL 2025 and opined that they can't have a team full of youngsters next season. He elaborated:
"See, the thing is where they are, they are in a tricky spot because the mega auction cycle is done. And I believe that CSK bank on experience. They need a bit of experience to sort of get past this rebuilding phase. You can't have a team full of young players, maybe with Ruturaj Gaikwad at the helm. You've got, you need some experience in the middle to sort of play in the CSK way that we used to seeing them play.
"So I don't think they will take any hasty decisions. That's the sort of franchise they are. They need someone who is, you need one Shivam Dube to fire and you need a second spin enforcer as well with this kind of batting order.
"I still believe they've sort of fixed certain parts of it with the top by bringing in some replacement players who have shown that they are capable of hitting the long ball, especially in the power play. And add to that the inclusion of Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top. It looks pretty solid if you actually add him in the mix. But I still believe CSK need one more very, very good number five for them to actually figure out their top seven, top eight, even with Dhoni and Jadeja."
