The 30-year-old West Indies National Cricket Team opener Kyle Mayers smashed an exceptional looking 105-metre six off Australia National Cricket Team pace bowling all-rounder Cameron Green’s delivery in the first match of the two-match T20I series on Wednesday, October 5.
The first match of the two-match T20I series between Australia and West Indies is being played at the Carrara Oval on Wednesday, October 5. The second match of the series is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 7, at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba, Brisbane.
Meanwhile, on the third ball of the 4th over of the first innings, all-rounder Green bowled a short-of-length delivery to West Indies’ Mayers. Losing the toss and batting first, West Indies National Cricket Team posted 145/9 on the board and opener Mayers top scored for the side with 39 runs under his belt. Notably, Mayers, who was castled by Pat Cummins, was the only West Indies batter to cross the 30 runs mark in the match.
Speaking after the West Indies innings, Aaron Finch said that the West Indies batters smashed some monstrous sixes in the match. He said:
“Some big sixers out there. It’s a tricky total, the pitch has ridges and it’s up and down. When you bowl it in the right area, it’s tough but still confident. Green has been in good nick, and we are trying out a few things over the next couple of games [on him going down to 4].”
