The 35-year-old England National Cricket Team spin-bowling all-rounder Liam Dawson has made a dream comeback to the Test team after eight years.
Liam Dawson didn't take too much time to make an impact and bagged his first Test wicket in eight years after dismissing the India National Cricket Team batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Liam Dawson takes a Test wicket after a gap of 2,928 days
Dawson has been a standout performer in County Cricket, but he was constantly overlooked by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) selection committee.
He was dropped from the Test playing XI after 2017, and his hopes for a comeback took a further hit when Ben Stokes showed faith in young Shoaib Bashir to handle spin-bowling duties in red-ball cricket.
However, an injury to Shoaib Bashir in the Lord's Test opened the doors for Liam Dawson to make a Test comeback, and he was instantly slotted into the playing XI for the Manchester Test.
Dawson took just seven balls into his first spell to take a wicket as he dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on the first ball of the 41st over. He bowled a good length ball outside off-stump, and Yashasvi Jaiswal outside edged it into the hands of Harry Brook at first slip.
Meanwhile, Liam Dawson bagged a wicket in Test cricket after a gap of eight years, 2928 days, and 102 Tests for the England National Cricket Team.
Dawson celebrated wildly after taking a wicket and speaking on-air, Dinesh Karthik showered rich praise on the spinner. He said:
“Liam Dawson should be really proud of himself. The first over (he) brought some (revolutions on the ball) in, hit the right areas and the second one he’s got the wicket as well. A simple catch to Harry Brook,” former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik said on Sky Sports.
“What a wicket, and what a feeling it must be for Dawson. It took him eight years to get his opportunity ... and to get Yashasvi Jaiswal, brilliant.”

And with the injury to Bashir, it was the only direction - Nasser Hussain
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the start of the game, Nasser Hussain said that Liam Dawson has made significant improvements in his game. He elaborated:
"Yeah, about time. I mean, he has been, I was going to say knocking down the door, but he's actually said last year that he'd given up on playing Test match cricket. It wasn't for him, or he didn't think so, but he has put out a claim that you just cannot ignore. And with the injury to Bashir, it was the only direction.
"Anyone that's seen him play in County Cricket, any Hampshire fan, the way he's gone about, and he's continued to improve. And everything that we've spoken about, Stokes and Kast and having the heart of a lion, you can speak about this lad as well."
"This lad is a tough competitor. And when you come in mid-series and you've had to wait eight years for your next Test match, you're going to need a bit of ticker. This lad has shown he's got a lot of ticker. Absolutely, 100% the."
