India National Cricket Team all-rounder Axar Patel again has been playing a decent hand with the bat for his team in his ongoing second ODI against the England National Cricket Team. The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack is hosting the game on Sunday (9th February).
Axar Patel, who yet again walled out to bat at No.5, has looked solid with the bat and is making sure that he stays there till the end for his team. The all-rounder has been hitting various shots as well and is putting pressure on the opposition.
Axar Patel was also at the receiving end of a blow as Liam Livingstone took him down. During the last ball of the 36th over, the England all-rounder bowled a ball to which Shreyas Iyer flicked to the wide long-on. In an attempt to grab the ball, the bowler bumped into Axar Patel.
Patel fell to the ground and looked in pain. However, he was quick to get up and complete the run.

Axar Patel, who slammed a solid half-century in the last game, has carried his good form and has played a vital hand for his team. The all-rounder has looked a class apart and it's fair to say that with the way he has batted in the two games, he has looked the No.5 spot in the team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
England posts a total of 304 runs
Earlier, after opting to bat, Ben Duckett (65) and Phil Salt (26) took England off to a flying start with the bat and added their second consecutive fifty-plus partnership as they added 81 runs for an opening partnership. After their stand, Harry Brook (31) and Joe Root (69) took the onus and added 66 for the third wicket.
Jos Buttler (34) also played a vital hand before Liam Livingstone (41) finished the innings on high as England with a total of 304 runs. For India, Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of three for 35.
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill take India off to a flying start
India had a brutal start with the bat, thanks to Rohit Sharma (119), who returned to form and slammed a solid century. The captain, along with Shubman Gill (60), added 136 runs for the opening stand. Virat Kohli, on his return, failed, but Shreyas Iyer continued good touch and hit 44 runs before getting run out.
But after that, the India National Cricket Team lost wickets in quick intervals and came under pressure. KL Rahul (10) and Hardik Pandya (10) couldn't get going as the Rohit Sharma-led side was left at 286 for six.
The onus will now be on Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja to take their team home. India National Cricket Team won the first game by a margin of 4 wickets. With few runs left in the kitty, it is likely that the Rohit Sharma-led side will take an unassailable lead in the series.
