Watch: Lockie Ferguson gets injured after 2 balls vs SRH in a huge blow for PBKS

Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced a massive injury blow during the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Star pacer Lockie Ferguson faced a knee injury and walked off the field.

Lockie Ferguson, who has been playing a decent role for the team in the IPL 2025, got injured in the first over that he bowled. The New Zealand National Cricket Team pacer was introduced into the attack in the last over of the powerplay when the team was under pressure.

Lockie Ferguson bowled two good deliveries but just ahead of the third ball of the over, he experienced pain. He looked uncomfortable as he held his quad on his way back to the run-up and the things didn't look great at all.

Lockie Ferguson then was unable to walk straight. He was holding that left quad before the physios rushed out to see if he could do something. However, he was deemed unfit to take part in the game any further as he walked off the field.

Lockie Ferguson's absence cost the Punjab Kings big time as they failed to defend the total of 245 runs. The bowlers had no clue to the carnage by the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters, in particular Abhishek Sharma. He played an innings of 141 runs to take his team home.

Ahead of the match, Lockie Ferguson talked about playing under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer. He said that the India batter is enjoying his time with a new group, adding that the captain will have a lot of success going ahead. Speaking ahead of the match, he said:

"Look, really enjoyed it. As you said, he's really calm around the group. I think he's enjoying his time with the new group. The calmness and experience he has had for a long period of time is shown through. He will have a lot of success going forward. I'm really enjoying playing under him so far."

Lockie Ferguson also talked about the Punjab Kings' campaign, saying that they are doing lot of things right. While elaborating on the same, he explained:

"As a group, we are doing a lot of things right. We are yet to play our perfect game. It's hard to do that in this type of competition. The experience that this unit has shown through it at times, hopefully, we have another good night. Challenging ground but looking forward to that.

"As we have talked about, it's about adjusting on the day. You can get the stats but it's important for us to adjust as we go. Adjust when the new batters come and restrict them before our batters can chase it down."
