Things have not really gone well for India captain Rohit Sharma in the ongoing Test series against England. The veteran batsman is under immense pressure after India’s defeat in the first Test and his failure to lead the team from the front.
In the first Test in Hyderabad, he registered scored of 24 and 39 as India lost the game by 28 runs despite taking a huge lead of 190 runs after the first innings. The defeat made Rohit Sharma the first-ever Indian captain to lose a Test at home after taking a lead of more than 100 runs. He also became the first Indian captain to lose a Test in Hyderabad.
He faced severe criticism for his batting and captaincy in the first Test and would have been desperate to turn things around in the ongoing second Test in Vishakhapatnam. However, the right-handed batsman could score only 14 in 41 balls before being dismissed by debutant spinner Shoaib Bashir.
The failure with the bat has only piled more pressure on Rohit Sharma. And the India captain could face more criticism for abusing his teammates on the field on day two of the ongoing Test. In a clip that has gone viral on social media, Rohit Sharma could be heard using derogatory language for his teammates as he seemingly warned them not to be casual on the field.
“Koi bhi garden me ghumega, maa ch*d dunga sabka,” said Rohit Sharma.

Talking about the ongoing game, India scored 396 runs in the first innings after Rohit won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with the bat, scoring 209 runs off 290 balls. No other player could even reach the 40-run mark as Jaiswal scored more than 50 percent of the team’s score.
For England, James Anderson, Shoaib Bashir, and Rehan Ahmed picked up 3 wickets apiece. In reply, England made a solid start and were on 114 for 1 before losing 4 wickets in quick time. At the time of writing this report, they were on 167 for 5 with Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes at the crease.
