Former England captain Michael Vaughan can’t seem to move on from the pitch that has been dished out in the last two Test matches between Indian and England in Chennai and Ahmedabad.

Vaughan is pretty active on almost every social media platform and he has been going on and on about how the pitches in the last two Tests are a poor advertisement for the longest format of the game.

Vaughan’s displeasure around the pitch started with the 2nd Test in Chennai where on a raging turner India proceeded to smash England inside four days by a margin of 317 runs. The former English captain had then resorted to term the pitch as a ‘beach’.

His displeasure peaked during the pink-ball Test in Ahmedabad where the match finished inside two days as India once again mauled England, this time by ten wickets.

With the Test match finishing inside two days to become the shortest long-form game since World War II, Michael Vaughan went full throttle in lambasting the pitch as he termed it as a ‘lottery’ and as ‘poor advertisement’ for Test match cricket.

He even went on to write a scathing piece in which he reckoned that the International Cricket Council [ICC] will look like a ‘toothless’ body if it allows countries like India to prepare such pitches.

“The longer powerful countries like India are allowed to get away with it the more toothless the ICC will look,” Michael Vaughan wrote in the Daily Telegraph.

“The governing body are allowing India to produce whatever they wish and it is Test cricket that is getting hurt,” he said while expressing his displeasure with the BCCI.

Vaughan is far from done though. Ahead of the 4th Test at the same venue in Ahmedabad, he took to his Instagram account to mock the pitch by sharing a picture of buffaloes in a dust field.

He wrote, “I can report that preparations for the 4th Test are going great … The Curator is expecting movement early, good carry & might spin on day 5 !!! #INDvENG”

Earlier, Michael Vaughan had shared a similar picture which he had captioned as:  “Looking forward to the next Test !!! #OnOn #INDvENG.”
