Watch- Mitchell Starc mocks Rohit Sharma after dismissing him on his favorite Pull Shot

After a poor show with the bat in the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series against Australia, Rohit Sharma bounced back in style during the second ODI on Thursday (October 23).

The former India skipper was out for just 8 runs in the first ODI. He was undone by the extra bounce at a spicy pitch in Perth.

Rohit was struggling initally

Josh Hazlewood bowled one that moved away, and Rohit Sharma ended up edging it to Matt Renshaw at second slip.

His dismissal cost India big as they could not really recover with the bat and went on to lose the match by 7 wickets.

India managed to post a modest total of 136/9 in the allotted 26 overs before Australia chased down the total inside 22 overs to take the lead in the series.

Rohit Sharma bounces back

After the failure in the series-opener, Rohit scored a fighting fifty in the second ODI. India had their back against the wall again as they were off to a poor start after being asked to bat first. Captain Shubman Gill once again failed to lead from the front and was dismissed for 9 runs by Xavier Bartlett in the 7th over.

In the same over, Bartlett also dismissed Virat Kohli for a second-ball duck to leave India reeling at 17/2. Rohit and Shreyas Iyer then steadied the ship for the Men in Blue. They mixed caution with aggression to revive the innings and put India on course for a competitive total.

The partnership was finally broken in the 30th over when Mitchell Starc dismissed Rohit Sharma. It was a shortish delivery on leg, and Rohit decided to play the pull shot. He made a good contact with the ball but could not find the right placement. He ended up hitting the ball straight to the fielder.

As Rohit was dismissed, Starc came up with an interesting celebration. The Australian pacer seemingly mocked the Indian star while celebrating the big wicket.

Meanwhile, Rohit departed for 73 runs. His knock came off 97 balls and was studded with 7 fours and 2 sixes. He shared a 118-run stand with Iyer for the third wicket.
