Veteran Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir has yet again grabbed the headlines for the wrong reason, and the fans would not certainly be happy with him after their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Group A game against Canada on Tuesday, June 11, at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Amir had done all the right things and proved his worth until the Pakistan cricket team defeated the Canada cricket team by seven wickets in their do-or-die clash at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, but after the match, the senior pacer ruined all the hard work he had done with his actions.

Notably, Amir won the Player of the Match award for his devastating spell of 2/13 in his quota of four overs, as it helped the Men in Green restrict Canada to 106/7 in the first innings of the Group A match in New York.

Later, Mohammed Rizwan’s slowest fifty guided the Pakistan team to a seven-wicket win over Canada to keep their hopes alive for the Super-8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

But once the match finished, Amir didn’t think twice and took out tobacco from his pocket, and without wasting any time or worrying about getting caught in the camera, he immediately chewed it up.

In the viral video on social media, Amir was seen taking out tobacco from his pocket and chewing it up without any embarrassment. The surprising yet unprofessional act was caught on camera when the Pakistan team players were lined up in queue for the customary handshake tradition after beating Canada in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday.

Now, the clip of the embarrassing moment is all over the internet, where Amir was clearly seen chewing tobacco while leaving for the handshake with his teammates from the Pakistan dugout and fans have been slamming the pacer for his act.

Meanwhile, it was a must-win match for Pakistan after they suffered defeats in their first two matches at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 against the United States (USA) and India in Dallas and New York, respectively.

However, the Men in Green managed to keep their hopes alive to make it to the Super 8s of the ongoing 20-team tournament with their massive win over Canada in their Group A match on Tuesday.

After the PAK vs CAN match, Amir said that he is always ready to bowl no matter the conditions and wants to win the games for his country. Now, he hopes Pakistan will beat Ireland in their last Group A game comprehensively on June 16 in Florida to progress into the next stage of the mega event.

However, they will hope for other results as they make their way to the Super 8s. Amir said, “As a bowler, you have to adopt the conditions, what the conditions are demanding. My role is very clear, what I'm going to do with the new ball and at the death. That's why I'm getting that success. It was a very important win. One more, who knows.”
