Pakistan National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was the shining light for the team with the bat in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The first game of the two-match series between teams is taking place at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Mohammad Rizwan justified his selection over Sarfaraz Ahmed as he played a stupendous knock for his team when it mattered the most. The keeper-batter bailed the team out of trouble after they lost early wickets and ensured that the team reached the competitive total on the board.
Rizwan came to bat after the fall of Saim Ayub and at a time when the game could've drifted away from Pakistan. However, the right-hander ensured that he soaked in all the pressure and brought his team back into the game, having jolted early on with wickets.
Mohammad Rizwan, along with Saud Shakeel (141), added 240 runs for the 5th wicket and helped the team post a big total on the board. He brought up a terrific Test century and silenced all the criticism that was there over his place in the Test side of Pakistan.
Mohammad Rizwan ended with an innings of unbeaten 171 runs off 239 balls. He slammed 11 fours and sixes in his innings, batting with a strike rate of around 73. His innings ensured that Pakistan went past 400 runs as the hosts ended their first innings on 448/6.
As Rizwan was walking back to the dressing room, he also displayed the swagger inside him. The right-hander threw his bat in style to Babar Azam, who came down to applaud him for his innings. The video of the incident went viral on the internet, with many in awe of his style.

After Rizwan walked back, scoring an unbeaten 171 runs, skipper Shan Masood faced a lot of skewering for not letting him score a double ton. However, vice-captain Saud Shakeel later revealed that the keeper-batter was already informed that they would be declaring one hour before the stumps.
With his innings, he also registered the third-highest score by a Pakistan wicket-keeper in Test cricket. He overtook Kamran Akmal's scores of 158* and 154, along with Rashid Latif's 150, to bag the third spot in the list. With the way he has been going and with Pakistan inclined to play quite a few Tests this year, it won't be a surprise if he ends up slamming a double ton.
Rizwan, after his knock, has been performing equally well with the gloves behind the stumps. He took a stunner to remove Zakir Hassan (12) and he put in a full stretch dive. Bangladesh lost two wickets but since then has been batting well. With the way things are panning out, it promises to be an exciting finish to the game.
