Former Pakistani cricketers have been crossing all the limits, overreacting to the handshake controversy, which erupted during the Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai. From Kamran Akmal and Basit Ali to Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Akhtar, and now Mohammad Yousuf, they have been making bold statements while criticizing Suryakumar Yadav and India.
The BCCI has unofficially supported Team India over the handshake controversy, given the sentiments of the Indian people over the match due to the Pahalgam attack earlier this year.
Mohammad Yousuf’s scathing attack on Suryakumar Yadav shocks the cricket world
But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reacted strongly, suspending Usman Wahla, the Director of International Cricket, and filing complaints with both the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC) over the handshake controversy.

Meanwhile, adding fuel to the fire, Mohammad Yousuf has stunned the entire cricket world with his explosive comments on Suryakumar Yadav and the Men in Blue on a live TV show. The former Pakistan coach has launched a scathing attack on Suryakumar, intensifying the controversy.
And that Suar (pig) Kumar....: Mohammad Yousuf
Calling Suryakumar Yadav deliberately a “pig,” Yousuf criticized Indian players for being stuck in a “filmy” mindset for not shaking hands with the Pakistani players after the Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai.
After which, the hosts corrected the former Pakistani batter by repeating that it is Suryakumar Yadav. Yousuf eventually called him Suryakumar and reminded them of what he had done during the India vs Pakistan clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 14.
Mohammad Yousuf said on Samaa TV, “These poor people just can’t get out of their filmy mindset. They are still stuck in their own filmy world. And that Suar (pig) Kumar is….”
Mohammad Yousuf claims India using referees to ‘torture’ Pakistan, drags PM Modi into the controversy
Yousuf accused India of trying to win the games by influencing the umpires and torturing the Men in Green through the match referee, referring to Andy Pycroft, who asked Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with Suryakumar Yadav at the toss in Dubai on Sunday.

He went a step ahead and called the match officials of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC) India’s and claimed that the umpires acted on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s orders since Jay Shah is leading the governing body.
Yousuf added, “India should be ashamed of the way they are trying to win, by taking the umpire on their side, by torturing Pakistan through the match referee. Their umpire's finger is dancing on the orders of PM Modi… When we used to play, that finger was not raising that much.”
A low level rhetoric from Yousuf Yohana (converted) on a national TV program.

Another epic India vs Pakistan clash set for September 21
Notably, the stage is almost set for another thrilling India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025 on September 21. India started their title defense in perfect style, smashing the UAE by nine wickets in their opening match and then Pakistan by seven wickets to qualify for the Super Four stage.
Unless the UAE pulls off a major upset, it looks like fans will be treated to another high-octane India vs Pakistan clash. However, if the Men in Blue pull off their last group match due to the match referee, Andy Pycroft, the UAE will progress to the next round, and they will be eliminated.
