Mohammed Shami destroys Bangladesh in Dubai
Shami didn't look at his very best in his recent comeback series against England National Cricket Team. However, he looked in full rhythm in India's Champions Trophy opening match.
He picked the wicket of Soumya Sarkar in his first over itself and then dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 7th over of the innings to reduce the Bangla Tigers to 26/3.
Shami kept bowling brilliant lines and lengths and was not satisfied with just two wickets. He brought out his best in the last 10 overs, where he picked three more wickets.
The right-arm pacer dismissed Jaker Ali in the 43rd over, Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the 47th over, and Taskin Ahmed in the 49th over to complete his 5-wicket haul.
On the fourth ball of the 49th over, Shami bowled a slower ball to Taskin on the pads and the Bangladesh star tried to flick it for a six. However, he didn't make a good connection with the ball and was caught by Shreyas Iyer.
As Iyer completed the catch and Shami reached the five wickets milestone, he was delighted. Shami raised his arms in delight and gave a flying kiss to the sky to celebrate the moment.
India captain Rohit Sharma was also delighted to see Shami achieving the feat, and he celebrated wildly. Meanwhile, head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen clapping for Shami from the dugout.

I always wondered when I would be able to put my feet on the ground again - Mohammed Shami
Speaking ahead of the match, Shami spoke about his comeback journey from injury. The pacer said that he was skeptical if he would be able to play again for India.
"I always wondered when I would be able to put my feet on the ground again, as someone who is used to running on the field constantly was now in crutches," Shami, 34, told ICC.tv.
"My first question to the doctor was 'how many days until I can be back on the field'. He said, 'my priority is to get you to walk, then jog, and then run and thinking about playing competitive cricket is still a distant goal'.
"After 60 days, when they asked me to put my feet on the ground, you won't believe me, but I have never been more scared to put my foot on the ground. It felt like I was starting over, like a toddler learning how to walk, and I was worried about any complications," he added.
