Hasin Jahan, the estranged wife of India fast-bowler Mohammed Shami, recently grabbed the headlines after the Calcutta High Court directed the cricketer to pay a monthly alimony to her.
The court ordered Shami to pay Rs 4 lakh per month - 1.5 lakh to Hasin Jahan and 2.5 lakh to their daughter.

The court's decision came following Jahan's challenge to a 2023 lower court order that had granted a significantly lower amount.
In 2023, a district sessions court had ordered Shami to pay INR 50,000 to Hasin Jahan before the latter decided to challenge the decision in the high court.
"I used to model and act before I got married. Shami forced me to quit my profession. He wanted me to live only a housewife’s life. I loved Shami so much that I happily accepted it," Jahan said after the court's verdict.
"But now I have no earnings of my own. Shami has to bear all the responsibility for our maintenance. That is why we had to approach the court when he denied this," she added.
Hasin is back in the headlines once again for an entirely different reason. A video has surfaced online showing her involved in a physical altercation with another woman.
In the video, Jahan could be seen pushing and shoving the other lady. The entire incident was caught on camera and has gone viral on social media. The reason behind the confrontation remains unclear as of now.

Shami's marriage failed miserably
Hasin Jahan and Shami had tied the knot in 2014. Before getting married to Shami, Jahan used to work as a model and a cheerleader for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Their marriage hit rock bottom in 2018 when Jahan lodged an FIR against the cricketer and his family.
She had accused Shami of domestic violence as well as dowry harassment, adultery, and match-fixing.
As a result, the BCCI had decided to withhold Shami's central contract. The star pacer received his contract only after an investigation by BCCI's anti-corruption unit cleared him of all the corruption charges.
Meanwhile, Shami was last seen in action during the IPL in May. The right-arm pacer plied his trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad and struggled with his rhythm throughout the tournament. He played 9 games and managed to take only 6 wickets.
