The 29-year-old India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj sustained a freak injury in the 45th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands National Cricket Team on Sunday, November 12, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Siraj is one of the most important players for India in the ongoing edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup as he has the ability to get breakthroughs even in pressure situations.

In 9 matches, Mohammed Siraj has picked up 11 wickets at an average of 31.00, an economy of 5.28, and a strike rate of 35.18, with the best bowling figures of 3/16, which came against his favorite opposition in world cricket ??? Sri Lanka.

Mohammed Siraj provided India with the first wicket of the innings against the Dutch by removing Wesley Barresi in his first over itself. On the third delivery of his first over, Siraj bowled an away-swinging length ball outside off and the Netherlands batsman went for a cover drive. However, he only managed to get a thin outside edge and Rahul moved across nicely to grab a good low catch. He bowled good next three overs and had the figures of 4-1-24-1.

Mohammed Siraj suffered an injury scare during the 15th over of the innings while fielding. On the 4th ball of the 15th over, Kuldeep Yadav bowled a tossed-up delivery outside off-stump and Max O???Dowd made room to launch the ball straight down the ground. However, he didn???t get the connection he needed.

Mohammed Siraj, who was at long-on, ran in from his position and got underneath the ball. He tried to reverse cup, but missed miserably and suffered a nasty blow to his throat.

After getting hurt, Siraj left field and went on the sidelines to get some treatment. He looked quite uncomfortable after suffering a blow on his throat and he was later taken to the dugout for treatment.
