A funny yet scary moment involving Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja from Day 3 of the ongoing first Test between India and Sri Lanka in Galle went viral on social media.

The leg umpire Ahsan Raza was the one who could have been injured by the rocket throw by Mohammed Siraj as the proceedings were underway on Day 3 of the ongoing two-match Test series in Galle. Amid this, Ravindra Jadeja creates history, becomes first Indian left-arm spinner to take 350 Test Wickets.

The incident happened when the fiery fast bowler of the Indian National Cricket Team, Mohammed Siraj, fielded the ball and sent a very powerful throw towards the stumps where the star all-rounder was stationed at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

However, the throw came dangerously close to substitute umpire Ahsan Raza, who had to quickly move down to the field to avoid being hit by the ball. The bowling leg-spinner Jadeja’s reaction made the moment even more entertaining at that moment.

Well, Mohammed Siraj is known for his aggressive energy on the field, but this time his rocket-like throw almost gave the substitute umpire a serious scare. Thankfully, Raza escaped without injury.

Actually, Rod Tucker, one of the on-field umpires, fell ill and could not continue his duties in Galle. As a result, Ahsan Raza, who was initially working as the TV/third umpire, came onto the field as the replacement umpire on the third day of the ongoing Galle Test.

India take huge 178-run lead as Sri Lanka bowled out for 284 in Galle

Meanwhile, India finished Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka in a strong position after taking a 178-run first-innings lead in Galle. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 284, but they showed great fight after being reduced to 90/5. Sonal Dinusha smashed his maiden Test century.

He then added a massive 146 runs with Niroshan Dickwella for the sixth wicket. Dickwella also played an important knock of 80. Well, the Indian spinners did most of the damage. Manav Suthar was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka then lost their final three wickets quickly as they were bowled out for 284. Earlier in the day, India dominated the first session, but Sri Lanka fought back strongly after lunch. Despite the rain forecast, play continued without major interruption for most of day three.

However, rain returned immediately after Sri Lanka was bowled out. The ground staff covered the entire field, and the umpires eventually called off play. Sri Lanka showed great character, but India remained firmly in control heading into Day 4 in Galle.
