India is already trailing in the Test series as they advance to feature in the fourth match of the series at Old Trafford, a venue where they do not have a convincing record.

After such a record, vile mistakes from the Indian players can turn out to be costly to them. In the 61st over of the game, Mohammed Siraj threw a ball wildly towards the wicket-keeper's end, and he missed the ball completely, which carried it to the boundary for 4 extra runs.

India is already in a major sink after having scored just 358 runs in their first innings, with no batter converting their starts to bigger scores. While England, in response, have all converted their starts and stand firm at 300/3 at the time of writing.

Mohammed Siraj's wild throw beat all to run to the boundary

Anshul Kamboj was brought back into attack as India is looking for something to change the course of the game. However, with Ollie Pope and Joe Root sprinting through the track for a quick single, Mohammed Siraj also rushed at the ball.

However, Siraj, who collected the ball well, wanted to put some pressure on the batters as he made a throw towards the wickets in the wicket-keeper's end, and Jurel made a fumble at the speeding ball, and it instead beat the field to carry off to the third man boundary.

Ravindra Jadeja fumes at Anshul Kamboj for missing a run-out chance

In a moment that could have been a massive turning point in the game, England veteran Joe Root survived a narrow run-out dismissal after the two England batters totally misjudged a single off Mohammed Siraj.

Siraj bowled the last ball of the 54th over that bounced suddenly and climbed onto the batter; Joe Root could not time it properly as it was stopped by a diving slip fielder. Jadeja immediately rushed to the ball and threw it towards the non-striker's end.

Joe Root, confused, had given up but started running when he saw there was no backup on the non-striker's end. Jadeja looked to aim at the stumps but missed it and was then seen visibly frustrated with Anshul Kamboj, who could have easily backed the fielder.

Jurel dropped Pope of Kamboj for 48

Another blunder was made by wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel, who is not having the best of outings this time with the gloves in Manchester. He had done a commendable job at Lord's; despite some flaws, he performed well otherwise.

However, in the ongoing test, Jurel has leaked unnecessary runs, as he failed to collect a simple edged ball that bounced in front of him and went back, beating him for 2 runs. This was followed by the Siraj overthrow, while the biggest of blunders came when Anshul Kamboj bowled a stunning in-swinging ball to Pope.

The Indian seamer's in-swinger shaped sharply and surprised the English no. 3; the ball nicked off his gloves and was missed by the wicket-keeper. Pope, who was on 48 runs then, finished the first session with 70* at lunch.
