MS Dhoni guided Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to an emphatic 5-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (April 13). The win ended CSK's five-match losing streak, helping them get back to winning ways.

CSK began their season with a win over Mumbai Indians before losing five games in a row. They finally managed to end up on the right side of the result against LSG.

The CSK bowlers came up with a fine display to restrict high-flying LSG to 166/7.

In reply, CSK were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 111/5 after 15 overs. However, Shivam Dube and Dhoni shared an unbeaten 57-run stand to take their team home.

MS Dhoni suffers an injury:

While CSK registered a crucial victory to get back to winning ways, their win turned a bit sour due to an injury sustained by MS Dhoni. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman looked uncomfortable because of his knee once again.

He was having trouble while running on the pitch and was seen limping even after the game ended. In a video that is doing the rounds on social media, the former India captain could be seen limping in the team hotel. CSK will be hoping that the injury is not serious and Dhoni continues to ply his trade for them.

The five-time champions have already lost the services of their regular captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, due to an elbow injury, and cannot afford another big setback.

Dhoni's knee has been troubling him for the last 2 years

For MS Dhoni, the knee has been a matter of concern for quite some time now. It is also one of the main reasons behind Dhoni's decision to bat at a lower position than his usual position. In 2023, he had to undergo surgery on the same knee immediately after leading CSK to their fifth title.

Earlier this season, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming spoke about Dhoni's knee, saying: "Yeah, it's a time thing. MS judges it. His body is, his knees aren't what they used to be, and he's moving okay, but there's still an attrition aspect to it.

Meanwhile, CSK's next game in the ongoing IPL is against Mumbai Indians on April 20. CSK have already defeated MI once this season and will be confident of beating them again.
