Watch: Muhammad Babar stuns everyone with legit one-handed sixes during Spain vs Czech Republic clash

During the ECI Spain-Czechia match between Spain and the Czech Republic, Spanish batsman Muhammad Babar smashed brilliant one-handed sixes while chasing 118 runs. Babar smashed two back-to-back one-handed sixes during the seventh over of Spain’s innings. One-handed sixes is one of the incidents which is very rare on the cricket field and it is also very difficult to hit the ball with power with just one hand.

On the second ball of the seventh over of Spain‘s innings, Muhammad Babar tried to play a one-handed six against Czech Republic bowler Sagor Hossain. However, he was not able to connect and lost his bat in the air. He was able to gain a couple of runs on that ball.

Muhammad Babar played the same shot on the very next ball and was able to connect it well and smashed it for six towards the leg side. Babar didn’t stop here and went for another wild swing on the next ball and hit yet another one-handed six towards the same region.

While batting first in Barcelona, the Czech Republic were able to put up a score of 117/7 in 10 overs. None of the batsmen was able to play a big knock and ended up scoring 15 to 25 odd runs respectively. Sahil Grover was the highest scorer of the Czech Republic innings and played a knock of 24 runs from 14 balls with 3 sixes. Mohammad Ratul also played an innings of 23 runs from 13 balls with four fours.

Sabawoon Davizi also scored 19 runs and made an important contribution to the Czech Republic innings. Sebastian Hughes Pinan picked up 3 wickets for Spain whereas, Muhammad Atif and Babar Khan picked up 2 and 1 wicket respectively.

Chasing down the target, Muhammad Babar took on the Czech Republic bowlers from the first over. Babar smashed 9 sixes and five fours during his stay at the crease and was unbeaten on 83* runs. Babar scored runs with a strike rate of 319.23. In the end, Spain was able to win the match by 9 wickets and chased down the target in the eighth over.

Former New Zealand batsman Lance Cairns smashed two back-to-back sixes against Australia in the 1983 Benson and Hedges Cup. Cairns smashed the Australian bowlers to all the parts of the ground, which also included many one-handed sixes. Cairns played a knock of 52 runs from 25 balls and smashed 1 four and 6 sixes during his stay at the crease. He batted with a strike rate of 208.

Indian batsman Rishabh Pant is very much famous for hitting one-handed sixes. However, Pant releases his hand after hitting the ball, which makes it look like he has hit six with one hand, however, he puts in the power with both hands and at last earns a six.
