Delhi Capitals (DC) fast bowler Mukesh Kumar is having a decent outing with the ball in the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Lucknow Super Giants, who were asked to bat first, were off to a flying start. Openers in Mitchell Marsh (45) and Aiden Markram (52) looked in golden touch with the bat as they added 87 runs for the opening partnership to put pressure on the Axar Patel-led side.

The opening batters made sure that they set the platform for the Lucknow Super Giants. The team also promoted Abdul Samad up the order to cash on the start they had. But Mukesh Kumar brought his team back in the game with an incredible 14th over of the innings.

Mukesh Kumar made sure that Lucknow Super Giants regretted the move to promote Abdul Samad as he removed the batter on the second ball of his second over. The fast bowler bowled a skiddy back-of-a-length ball on off that stuck a bit on the surface.

Abdul Samad tried to flat-bat it down the ground but only managed to mistime it back towards the bowler. Mukesh Kumar was on the alert on his follow-through as he took it nicely with both hands to end the batter's innings on just 2 runs.

What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Mukesh Kumar after he had his man. The Delhi Capitals pacer came up with a unique celebration as he gestured to the batter to go back to the pavilion.

In the same over, Mukesh also went on to remove Mitchell Marsh to put pressure back on the opposition. The Delhi Capitals pacer was the pick of the bowlers for his team as he picked a four-wicket haul to restrict the opposition, returning with the figures of 4/33.

For Lucknow Super Giants, Ayush Badoni played a brilliant innings down the order. He played an unbeaten innings of 36 runs off just 21 balls. Thanks to his knock, the home side posted a total of 159 runs on the board.

The wicket is on the slower side but still I feel we are short of runs - Ayush Badoni

Ayush Badoni talked about his innings, saying that they are 20 runs short. He also talked about the team's impact player ploy and said:

"The wicket is on the slower side but still I feel we are short of runs. I think 180 (would have been a par score). With the right plan, hitting good areas and fielding well can help us. (Impact Player ploy of LSG) That's the strategy for Mayank but last game it executed well, so let's hope this game also we win and the strategy works.".
