Watch: Munaf Patel’s Argument With Fourth Umpire During Match

The exact details weren't officially disclosed, but Munaf Patel was involved in a heated exchange with the fourth umpire after being stopped from sending a reserve player onto the field to deliver a tactical message. The incident took place near the boundary line while Patel was tying his shoelaces.

Patel, part of Delhi’s revamped coaching staff this season, has been actively involved with bowlers like Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar. Despite the controversy, his work has contributed to a well-coordinated bowling unit that helped defend 188 runs and seal a thrilling Super Over victory.

Delhi Capitals Beat Rajasthan Royals in a Closely Fought Encounter

Delhi Capitals posted a competitive total of 188/5 in their 20 overs. Abishek Porel (49 off 37), Tristan Stubbs (34 off 18), and Axar Patel (34 off 14) contributed crucial runs. Rajasthan Royals fell short, despite half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 37) and Nitish Rana (51 off 28).

Mitchell Starc played a pivotal role by defending nine runs against set batters. In the Super Over, RR set a target of 12 runs, which KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs comfortably chased down to secure Delhi's fifth win in six matches.

Starc was named Player of the Match for his impressive bowling performance of 1-36. The Capitals moved to the top of the points table with 10 points and will next face the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
