Nepal wicket-keeper Aasif Sheikh was the toast of the town after he refused to run the non-striker out who was tripped on the way by the bowler.

The incident occurred in a T20I match between Nepal and Ireland in the Oman Quadrangular Series. The batter on strike, Mark Adair tucked the ball towards the leg side and set off for a single.

Nepal’s bowler, Kamal Singh tried to cut across the non-striker, Andy McBrine, and in his attempt to do so, he ended up tripping McBrine. He was well short of his crease when Kamal collected the ball and fired a throw towards the keeper.

Seeing what had transpired, Sheikh decided against removing the bails and letting McBrine run through. The act was applauded by the commentator, who termed the act as something ‘brilliant to see’.
