Nitish Rana’s [56-ball 80]  masterclass eventually came to an end after he finally mistimed one and holed out to Vijay Shankar thanks to some pretty smart bowling by Mohammad Nabi.

It all happened on the 3rd delivery of the 18th over when Nabi, having spotted that Nitish Rana had cleared his leg in wanting to slog it over deep midwicket, fired it outside off-stumps.

Rana was forced to slice at the ball and he ended up mistiming it to give an easy catch to Vijay Shankar at long-off.

Nevertheless, it was a knock right out of the top drawer by the Kolkata Knight Riders opener Nitish Rana

The enigmatic Delhi cricketer hit his straps right from the first ball he faced. Rana announced himself with an imperious cover-drive and then he proceeded to lay into Sandeep Sharma, smashing him for as many five fours across his first two overs.

He pulled, cut, slog-swept, scooped, drove with equal precision and the fine-leg region proved to be the most productive area for him.

Rana smashed his third half-century in his last six innings and it was his knock and his partnership with Rahul Tripathi during the middle-overs that has paved the way for KKR to post their highest total of 6/187 against SRH.
