Virat Kohli's poor form continued as he was dismissed for just 6 off 15 deliveries during the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways. Kohli, who has been going through a bad patch recently, made his return to Ranji Trophy after more than 12 years.
However, things didn't go according to the plan and the 36-year-old was clean bowled by Railways seamer Himanshu Sangwan. Sangwan bowled a perfect delivery that seamed in after pitching on a good length and beat Kohli's attempted straight drive by a long way to uproot the off stump.
The crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was absolutely shocked as they saw their favorite cricketer going back to the pavilion. The stadium was stunned in silence as they didn't expect to see Kohli get out so cheaply.
After the fall of his wicket, a big bunch of spectators started leaving the stadium in disappointment. Most of the stands had been emptied after Kohli's wicket even though the match was far from over.

The fans had gathered in huge numbers for this game just to watch Virat Kohli bat. According to various reports, the spectators had traveled from nearby states to Delhi just to see Kohli play and expected him to score big.
But, it was a disappointing result for them as Kohli was dismissed quite cheaply. While he was out for a single-digit score here, Kohli had a chance to redeem himself by scoring big in the second innings.
Ayush Badoni's knock puts Delhi back on track
It was a big wicket as Delhi slumped further to 86-3 after the fall of Virat Kohli's wicket. Himanshu Sangwan didn't stop here and dismissed the opener Sanat Sangwan in his next over for 30 off 81 balls.
However, skipper Ayush Badoni led from the front with a counter-attacking knock of his own. He started his innings with a positive intent and backed himself to play his shots. The pitch was offering a good amount of help to the Railways seamers but Badoni replied to them with an attacking intent.
He was aggressive against both the spinners and the fast bowlers. Badoni looked good for a well-deserved hundred but was finally dismissed for 99 runs off 77 balls by the experienced legspinner Karn Sharma. His knock included 12 fours and 3 sixes.
By the time he was dismissed, he had put Delhi closer to the Railways' first-innings total. Delhi have already taken a crucial first-innings lead with Sumit Mathur and Pranav Rajvanshi at the crease.
Virat Kohli's form in Test cricket
While Delhi have surged ahead of Railways' first innings total, this match was crucial for Virat Kohli's much awaited comeback in Ranji Trophy. The 36-year-old came into this match on the back of poor form in Test cricket.
In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli scored 190 runs in five Tests at an average of 23.75. Before the Test series in Australia, he endured a poor Test season at home in which he scored 192 runs across five Tests at an average of 21.33.
