On the third day of the second Test against England at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was criticized by fans of the national team in the stands.

Ben Stokes, the captain of England, contributed 41 as their second innings ended at 275 earlier on Day 3. Harry Brook then struck his second hundred of the series. In a period of approximately two and a half days, Pakistan was supposed to chase 355.

Babar Azam, who is thought of as the talismanic batsman for the Pakistani team in all forms, didn’t receive a hero’s welcome as he struggled for the Asian giants in the second Test match against Ben Stokes-led England. Babar, the captain of Pakistan’s batting lineup in the second Test, struck a valiant effort of 75 off 95 balls in Pakistan’s opening innings at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

While many expected Babar to continue his free-scoring run in the second innings, the in-form hitter displayed a rare batting failure, being dismissed for cheap by England’s Ollie Robinson. Babar was simply outwitted by the England speed merchant before the end of the nineteenth century. Pakistani fans brutally mocked Babar after the star cricketer perished for a dismal individual score in the second innings.

Pakistani spectators blasted the top batsman with “Zimbabar” cries as they took aim at Babar. As Pakistan lost its second wicket for a total of 67 in 18/5 overs, Babar, who had been the team’s go-to batter in all forms, could only manage one run off ten balls. At the end of Day 3, Pakistan under Babar posted 198-4 in 64 overs.

As Babar was returning to the pavilion, some Pakistani supporters made fun of his poor performance by chanting “Zimbabar,” as heard in a video that a user posted on social media.

Pakistan were 198 for 4 at the stumps after Imam and Saud Shakeel revived their innings through an imperious 108-run stand for the fourth wicket.
