Australia skipper Pat Cummins produced a spectacular delivery to dismiss in-form Indian batter KL Rahul on Day 2 of the fourth Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 series. Pat Cummins castled KL Rahul as the ball struck the top of the off-stump, sending the batter packing for 24 runs off 42 balls.
Australia resumed Day 2 at 6-311 in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday, December 27. Steve Smith and Pat Cummins added 112 runs for the seventh wicket. Smith scored 140 off 197 balls, while Cummins contributed 49 runs as Australia was bowled out for 474 in 122.4 overs.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's struggles continued as he was dismissed for just 3, top-edging a pull shot in the second over. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul then put together a 43-run partnership for the second wicket, but Pat Cummins struck late in the afternoon session, putting pressure on the Indian team.
The incident occurred just before the tea break on the second day of the Test match. Pat Cummins bowled a delivery with a natural angle that straightened after pitching, breaching Rahul's defense and hitting the top of the off-stump. It was something special from Cummins to get Rahul's wicket on a flat pitch.
"That's as good as it gets," former England captain Michael Vaughan said on Fox Cricket commentary.

The Indian cricket team was at 2-51 at tea on the second day of the match, with opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal not out on 23. They were still 423 runs behind Australia’s first innings total. The team will be hoping for strong performances from the middle-order batters to help close the gap.
Australia Bowled Out for 474 Runs with Jasprit Bumrah's Four-Wicket Haul
Earlier in the day, India's quick bowlers unleashed a short-ball barrage before Ravindra Jadeja produced a breakthrough by dismissing Pat Cummins for 49. Steve Smith reached 100 off 167 balls, then accelerated by attacking Mohammed Siraj and Jadeja.
Mitchell Starc also played aggressive shots, including a six off Bumrah. After lunch, Jadeja took his third wicket by bowling Starc for 15, and Smith was dismissed in an unusual manner after edging a ball from Akash Deep onto his pads, with the ball trickling onto the stumps.
Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland added 19 runs for the final wicket, with two successful LBW reviews, before Bumrah wrapped up the innings with his bowling figures of 4-99.
