Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has injected fresh energy into his squad, as they are gearing up to take revenge on Kolkata Knight Riders for their heartbreaking title loss in the last season when they meet on April 3 in the 15th game of the ongoing IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a terrific start to their IPL 2025 campaign, thrashing Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs in their season opener in Hyderabad while posting the record-breaking total of 286/6 on the board. However, SRH fell only one run short of breaking their record of the highest total (287 runs) in the Indian Premier League that they made last year.

However, after their thrilling win over the Rajasthan Royals, SRH’s campaign hit a snag with two back-to-back defeats at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals in the tournament. But they would now aim to avoid a hat-trick of defeats in the ongoing IPL 2025.

Ahead of their crucial match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 3, Pat Cummins has inspired his team and reminded them of their true strength. The Sunrisers Hyderabad captain said that they must forget playing defensive cricket both at home and away, asking them to attack from the first ball.

Pat Cummins shares an inspiring message for his SRH troop

In a video shared by SRH on Instagram, Pat Cummins said, “I think a few teams are only 20 minutes from you. When they go to a new venue, they tend to think, ‘Let's think, and let's play it safe. Let's get 160, 17’0. But that's not our team, okay? And if you had a good night tonight, we get a score, one odd person joins you, we get 200 plus, and you're probably good in that game.”

The Australian star added, “In some ways, we've been unlucky the last few innings. Challenges just keep doubling down a lot. Got us in the first few innings, first game 280. That's the kind of team that we want to be. Don't overthink this one too much.”

Pat Cummins is excited to promote Australian Tourism in India

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins was recently appointed as an ambassador for the Australian Tourism Board to promote his homeland. He's thrilled to be part of Tourism Australia's "Friends of Australia" program and their latest campaign, "Howzat for a Holiday," which aims to showcase the beauty and charm of Australia to Indian travelers.

The Australian skipper has also shared his idea of a perfect Australian vacation for Virat Kohli. Cummins said the itinerary would include cricket, adventure, culture, and relaxation, giving Kohli a taste of Australia’s most iconic spots. Kohli has also made India his second home.

Cummins signed off by saying, “I've been lucky to spend lots of time there [India] over the last 15 years playing for Australia and in the Indian Premier League, most recently as captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. India has such a rich culture, from the vibrant markets to historic temples, and of course, the amazing food. The energy in places like Mumbai and Delhi is infectious.”
