Cricket fans were shocked to witness a video of Pat Cummins arriving in Australia after winning the ICC World Cup 2023 trophy. The Australia skipper did not receive a grand welcome at the airport and there were no fans to cheer for him.

Pat Cummins-led Australia won the ICC World Cup 2023 after defeating India by 6 wickets in the final. Australia opted to bowl first in the match. They restricted India to 240 in 1st innings. Later, they chased down the target in 43 overs to win the 6th ODI World Cup title.

Fans Astonished To Witness Pat Cummins’ Dull Welcome In Australia

A video is going viral on social media in which Australia skipper Pat Cummins returned to Australia with the World Cup trophy. However, Cummins did not receive any grand welcome at the airport.

There were only a few journalists at the airport and there were no fans to welcome the Australian captain. Moreover, other passengers were just busy with their own stuff at the airport.

Cricket fans were astonished to witness such a welcome of the Australian captain. Some said that Australians are not crazy about cricket like Indians. The madness for cricket is only in the Indian subcontinent, in other countries people do not even care whether their country has won or lost the World Cup in cricket.

After winning the ICC World Cup 2023 trophy, Pat Cummins said it feels exciting to think about the triumph.

“I think we’ll be smiling for a fair while. We are still buzzing. Every half an hour so, you kind of remember that you just won a World Cup and get excited all over again. You only get one chance every four years and especially playing somewhere like India, it’s hard.” Cummins had said in the press.

While Pat Cummins returned to Australia, some other players have stayed in India for the upcoming India vs Australia T20I series. The IND vs AUS T20I series will witness five matches. The opening game takes place on Thursday, November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
